After a title like that, I’m going to let you down with a very bad news:

Apple cans the ZFS integration project.

I’m really not happy about that, but we can’t do much about it. This is very weird because, last week, I drafted a post about ZFS & XSAN2. It was about my expectation for the world of ‘integrated’ filesystem… guess they are a bit lower now.

In the following video, Brendan Gregg plot I/O operations per seconds by latency and number of I/O ops over a defined time threshold while some “vibration” are introduced. Bottom line : Do not yell at your computer. You are not helping.

I’m kinda curious about this whole “mobile datacenter” frenzy going on – I don’t have anything against it – I simply wonder where this is going…

Google Inc. is the owner of a mobile datacenter patent

Last year, SUN Microsystem toured its BlackBox.

And now, I’ve learned of a new offer ICE Cube Modular Mobile Datacenter from Rackable systems  [Google Finance, NASDAQ:RACK]. I’d be interested to review one of those products…
